HzO develops revolutionary waterproof concept for electronic devices

Posted on January 18, 2012 by admin There have been 0 comments

Any electronic device, from iPads to home theater systems, can boast durable construction and good reliability, but the fact remains that all are susceptible to the smallest drop of water. This used to be a problem with portable devices that could be exposed to inclement weather, but prototypes revealed at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) promise an incredible solution.

Waterproof technology company HzO has recently developed a revolutionary way to coat electronic devices with its WaterBlock formula. The process involves placing devices in a vacuum with inert gases, creating a microscopic waterproof layer that coats the internal electronics of any product. The coating is not designed to be completely immersed in water for long periods of time, however - the manufactures say it is geared more toward accidents, like dropping an iPod in a sink.

The company website states that HzO is collaborating with major consumer electronic device manufacturers to bring WaterBlock technology to the international electronics market. HzO caused quite a stir at the 2012 CES, and the hope is that water-resistant technology will become the new industry standard for electronics.
